K so i got a scion tC 2010. And now I want to add some modifications..
-Exhaust
Should I stick to the 364$ TRD exhaust OR Apexi WS2 for $400
-CAI
The TRD 359$ OR $290 AEM intake.

ide go with TDR on both but thats my prefrance and why are you going for exhaust and not something else making your car sound a bit stupid is plain stupid go for an engine mod unless you live in Cali.... haha but seriously why exhaust? i mean there is good that comes out of them but for like 400$ you could save or get something else

thats not the place to start.... go for a body kit is prolly better than exhaust imo lol i saw a car that each weak would get a new body part started with one side skirt lol and kept going at the end new paint job and everything was hot but dude save for the turbo spending 400 now doesnt help you get it and if you never save the money then how are you going to save 4 grand for a turbo charger??

I completely understand where your coming from you just want something but when you look past that, its not worth it, its better to save your money for the turbo and mabye a new engine depending on the one you have (idk what they put in those) and go to a tuner to have it tuned to what you want so you get the Max HP depending if you want to race or not but if your not going to race you have a decent car i see no need to put a turbo on a not super hot car (its a nice car but its not hot) =) you couldve got an Acura NSX with that ammount of money that car costs
edit not putting your car down but just saying and like i said its a nice car just want to emphasize that

K one thing, the turbo isnt made by TRD and I really dont want to fuck the engine up.. would a supercharger made by TRD be better?
Also people keep saying that their engines keep blowing up and their car is ruined? care to clarify please.

depends whos engine keeps blowing up? Do they have twin turbo plus a supercharger trying to pump a 100 shot of nos into there s2k? lol and depends on the engine really v6 v8 or v10? read reviews on both because you should take percaustions and why would your engine blow up??? and most of the time people blow there engine with NOS either because they dont have the pistols for it or they dont have nuff intake

So if I do get the turbocharger, would a CAI be a good idea? Also, its a VVTi engine and how much PSi should I tune it to? (estimate)

Umm wait wait wait.
What do you even want to do? Be honest: Are you really going to a track to run it or is this just for showing off at school? Because if it's the latter, then you do not need to invest into a turbo.
You should be investing into air filters, radiator, and maybe some springs because those are essentials to keep your car at top performance.
After you have performance essentials, then you can play around with the inner engine. The TC is not a race car, it's more of a show car. Keep that in mind. :]

I got it that in mind drshinya, I knew before I bought the tC that it wasnt a race car. Maybe I should drop the turbo crap and go for the useful parts

Edit: Mod it out as you see fit but exhaust and a CAI i dont this is the way to go for the first mods

The thing is, once I get into college, this car is going to my brother and i may get another car..
That car wil hopefully(knock on wood) will be an Infiniti G37
So I really dont think theres a point in buying all these expensive engine mods. Ill stick to exterior designs etc.

Disregard any of these failed attempts to steer you in the wrong direction.
Go for the GReddy SP2 or APEX'I WS2 Exhaust. Each one of these sounds amazing and offer considerable amount of power for its use in the mid-high RPM range.
CAI: AEM is the way to go. AEM V2, specifically. When you buy an exhaust, you want to make sure you buy a full cat-back exhaust system which runs from the headers all the way back to your muffler.
DO -NOT- buy a muffler buy it self, you'll only be getting the deep mellow tone. 2.25" quarter piping is common on most setups. You'll get low-end torque increases.
Who's gonna buy a Turbo Kit with no aftermarker muffler? If you're going Turbo, you won't even be using this muffler, you'd have to get a 3" Turbo Exhaust to reduce back pressure.
Thanks for the sig., Allie..

Never! Still considerable if you want a slight increase in power to the wheels favorable over 100% stock performance. A combination of a CAI, Cat-back Exhaust, upgraded maybe NGK Iridium spark plugs, maybe even an upgraded throttle body would be awesomeness for increased air flow into the intake valve.
Possibilities are endless, but honestly on a Scion I wouldn't go all out on one. It's like tryin' to modify a civic to go super quick which isn't happening w/o a swap.
Minor mods = best way to go. not anything over-the-top.

Alright I just read like the first 4 posts. Dude don't listen to them. Exhaust is a really important upgrade when it comes to a car. It lets your motor breathe. Without your motor being able to breathe it can't fuel more horsepower. However CAI are a bit pointless if you do plan on turbo because it's just going to be taken out. So scrap buying that and save for a nice suspension or rims. And the guy that said something about get a body kit. Don't take advice from him. Body kits are a waste of time, money, and make you look like a joke. Keep it simple. For your TC i would recomend a nice suspension, brake setup, rims. No BODY KIT. I repeat NO BODY KIT! lol but back on topic
when it comes to Toyota I would stick with TRD. These products also help the car maintain it's value a bit more. TRD knows it's stuff when it comes to Toyota seeing as how it is a Toyota owned company.
P.S. If you want to learn a bit more about your car also get helpful advice here is a forum to get involved. To view this link you need to register! | | ::blank:: | | | | EE! <3 Rep Power: 74 | | Posts: 1,031 Join Date: Mar 2008

also if you do plan on forced induction I would go with a trd supercharger. I know you said you didn't want to but I wouldn't completely throw the option out the window. It is possible to have a daily driven turbo'd/supercharged vehicle just do an adequate amount of research.
